VBA Parent FAQs:

“What are the Monthly Dues for??”
All monthly dues that are collected from a specific team, go towards that specific team's budget.
The team budget is used to pay for practice time, tournaments, equipment and other team expenses.

Multiple Player Discount: 

·         2 or more players per family – Regular annual & 2nd player discounted by 50%


Fundraising opportunities available to help off-set monthly dues:

·         Team snack bars @ BAS Tournaments.  All funds will be deposited to team budget.

·         Holiday Raffle in DEC (50% of ticket sales goes to dues, must meet minimum qty. to qualify)

·         Spring Shoot-A-Thon (50% of ticket sales goes to dues, must minimum qty. to qualify)

·         Individual team and special event fundraising opportunities are encouraged and welcomed



VBA Annual Fundraising Tournament Events:  Volunteers needed – mandatory 4 hours per family, per tournament.  Total of 8 minimum hours per family per year.  Each family must donate $100 for snack bar supplies per year. Raise a minimum of $200 per season or Buy-out Option of $300.
(Funds go towards general funds for big tournament fees, gym fees & equipment).

- Pre-Memorial Day Tournament (May 2018)

VBA Member Benefits:

·         50% off admission at BAS Tournaments with VBA Gear
·         Access to discounted hotel rates for tournament and team travel

VBA Parents:

·         All parents will be required to participate in TEAM/organization fundraising events
·         Team budgets accessible via team budget on google docs.  Update & maintained by TM and/or Coach

Tournaments: 

·         Head Coach and Assistant Coaches along with parents will review season, pick tournaments for the year and based on team budget
·         Tournament schedules subject to change

Admin: 

·         Your player needs to turn in his/her CURRENT or MOST RECENT Report Card (Last year's, end of year Report Card is ok) and copy of birth certificate. Please bring to his first practice
·         Tournament & practice schedules subject to change

TRAVEL TOURNAMENTS

NEED TO MAKE TRAVEL PLANS FOR YOUR TEAM?
Please contact Lally Siasoco of Archer Travel.  She is our official Vision Travel Agent and is able to get us some great deals for discounted travel packages for your teams.  Especially Vision teams that are travelling for Memorial Day or during the summer.  She can be reached at 510-965-3351 or by email at travelwithlally@gmail.com.  Please feel free to use her a resource!

CAR RENTAL
We are working on renewing our Avis/Budget car rental discount code for Vision families that are travelling.  You will be able to plug in the code on the avis.com website to get additional discounts. Once the code is available we will give it to your Team Manager, who will be able to distribute the information.

TRAVEL TOURNAMENTS
If your team is planning on travelling this year to Reno, Las Vegas, Anaheim, Portland, Mesquite, San Diego or anywhere else, we have to plan accordingly.  If you need suggestions on where to travel or need tournament suggestions, please ask!  All of these travel tournaments have registration deadlines.  If your team has already chosen a travel tournament and has made plans to travel, please check with Jon Robles to make sure that your team is signed up and registered!  Don't wait until the last minute, as many of the tournament can sell out before the deadlines.   


FOR TEAMS WHO ARE GOING TO RENO FOR MEMORIAL DAY
We have to update our rosters online at:

I have added coaches and team administrators to the their online team profile. Each coach and team manager, that is going to Reno, should have received an email giving you online access.  If you already have a Login, go ahead and login.  If you don't have a login, create one.  Once you have access to your online team profile, you will be able to help updated your team profile online.

Please make sure that your rosters on the Google Spreadsheet are up-to-date.  I will be using that player list to make sure everyone has an AAU card.  We need to make sure that we have AAU cards for all players participating in this AAU sanctioned event. Then we have to make sure the online rosters are updated with every player who has the possibility of competing in Reno.

If you need help completing the online roster and printing your rosters and score sheets, please feel free to contact me and schedule an appointment.  We can complete it together at my house.


COACHES
Coaches must get their "Non-player" AAU coaching card. Otherwise, you will not be allowed on the bench in Reno.  Coaches can follow this link to get it: https://play.aausports.org/Membership.aspx

You will need our Club Code when registering for your coach's AAU card.

The Vision Basketball Academy club code is: WWDB3E.

It will also ask for your social security card number and do a background check.  It usually takes less than a day to get your AAU card.  You may need your assigned AAU number for reference.  You will get an email once it's completed.

If you are a team manager, who is going to Reno, you may want to get a coaching card too.  I believe it's only $14 and it will give you access to a free coaching band in Reno.  It's cheaper than the $31 weekend pass that you would pay at the door.

VBA - Winter Raffle & Holiday Party!

VBA WINTER RAFFLE FUNDRAISER


Our annual VBA Winter Raffle is here!


- $5 per Ticket
- Drawing on December 10, 2017 at the Vision X-Mas Party
- 50% of your personal ticket sales = CREDIT towards your monthly dues! *


Example: If you sell $200 worth of raffle tickets, you get $100 worth of credit towards future monthly dues. *

* All players must participate. 
Minimum 20 tickets sold per player. 

The more tickets that you sell, the more credit you will receive towards your future monthly dues! 
In past years, many VBA players have taken advantage of this unique fundraiser, to prepay for several months of dues!

Physical tickets will be distributed at practices during the week of 10/30/17. Raffle tickets can also be purchased on our website. Make sure that they fill in the “referred by” field to ensure that your get credit for each sale.  

We will need everyone's participation to ensure that this is a successful fundraiser.  If we hit our goal, the proceeds will allow us to:

1) Keep our Monthly Dues low. 
2) Supplement all team budgets throughout the year.
3) Afford new equipment (basketballs etc.)
4) Fund our VBA family events (such as the X-Mas Party/Summer Picnic/Etc.).
5) Help pay for gym time for team practices during the school year.  If we do better than expected, we can use funds towards summer practice times as well.

VBA 2016-2017 Season

The 2016-2017 is upon us!  In order to properly plan the new AAU season, we will need to schedule Parent Meetings for each team.  Below are links with some helpful information.


If you have not completed a Registration Form for your son/daughter, you can use the link above or you can register online by clicking here.



If there are any questions, please feel free to reach out to your Coach, Team Manager or the VBA Staff.

Our Tournament List of recommended tournaments will be coming soon.  The list will include preferred "Outside/Travel Tournaments". 

From the list, each team will choose the tournaments that they would like to participate in while staying within their budget.  Each team's budget is based on the funds coming in from the team (through monthly dues and/or fundraisers) minus the team's expenses.
